Josephine Yu Jia Guan (she/her)

Josephine is a Chinese-Canadian artist based in Tkaronto. She graduated from the MDes program in Inclusive Design at OCAD University, where she won a 2022 OCAD University Medal for her Major Research Project, Drawing from experience: Exploring identity with individuals healing from brain injury. In her art practice, Josephine uses multi-media/assemblage methods, and this approach further influences her use of multi-modality to facilitate accessibility and inclusion in her work in the areas of qualitative research and education. Josephine’s current art practice is centred on resting as a productive act through taking care of her physical and emotional body.
