Re•Vision Story-Making

Welcome to the Re•Vision Story-making module series! Here you will be guided through the steps of Re•Vision’s story-making process—from brainstorming and focusing your story ideas to screening your story.

Along the way you can engage with video tutorials on the specific technical elements of producing a multimedia story and/or do a deep dive into further reading on how storytelling can make change in our lives and our communities.

In this module, we discuss the followings:

Orienting Stories

Give an overview of the digital storytelling process and Re•Vision’s methodology, and the potential of well-crafted and well-curated stories to create systemic change

Gathering Stories

Explore how stories are shaped and shared at the beginning of the workshop process, discuss ways to begin the story-making process, different types of stories, and invite reflection on how stories work in the world

Sounding Stories

Explore how sound and audio can work to form the foundation of a digital story and discuss how sound, including silence, can enhance elements of a story

Envisioning Stories

Explore how images and visual media can work to layer meaning and intention within the digital story-making process, discuss different approaches to using visual media and consider how images can illustrate, disrupt and confront

Assembling Stories

Explore practical and conceptual considerations when editing and finalizing a story within the digital story-making process
